My speech 2016

My Speech

It's the last 30 seconds in the match. He takes a run up and shoot the ball right into the back of the goal. He scores! The crowd goes wild. Roooarrrrrrr! He does a little victory dance with his team in excitement. Nothing feels better than scoring the winning goal.

Hi my name is Vaughn and I will be explaining to you why soccer is a good sport and everyone should play it.

My first reason, it is a global sport.
A lot of people around the world play soccer. There are about at least 265 million players that play soccer, which is around 4% of the whole world! The most popular soccer team is probably FC Barcelona. They also have at least 190 goals scored and they have 24 players in the team.

The second reason is that the rules are pretty simple.
Once you know what to do, you may get a few red and/or yellow cards. But when you start playing a lot, you will be a skilled player and get better at the game, also you will avoid the yellow and red cards.

Thirdly, you don't really need much equipment.
Really, all you need is a ball and some cones or anything to be the goal and you are good to go. You can use red and yellow cards if you are in a rough game. Its good use if it is slippery. Another good thing is also using soccer shoes.

Lastly. You can play any time you want and with anyone you want to play with. Muddy, wet, raining, snowing  or not, it is a good time to have a quick match with your friends. You can do it on concrete, grass or sand. You can play anytime, anywhere. My opinion is if I was offered to ever play in snow, I think i would decline that offer, you know since it may be too cold. Unless you had lots of clothes on, of course.

Well... do YOU think soccer is a good sport? I do. It’s easy to learn, you don't need a lot of equipment to play and you can play anywhere. I suggest that at lunchtime today, go to the field and have a go at soccer. Everyone should play it.

My olympic writing

I could see the finish line, then as soon as I was 2 metres away, someone was right next to me. I was close to winning but then… we both tied, both stretching over the finish line together. I was angry and annoyed. I nearly won the sprint gold trophy but me and that person got a silver medal.
The person with the silver medal said “Nice try”.
I said “thanks”.
Then he walked away. I went home and had a rest.

My story about a whistle

The whistle was blown… the team FC barcelona disappeared! The soccer team is gone and it is full time. Where did they go? Were they robotic? Did they see me? The team reappeared and another whistle blew and they regrouped. Then I went to see them to ask what they were doing. They were saying “let’s go Barcelona let's go!” I came close to them and they started chasing me. I ran and ran and ran until I run out of energy but… luckily they just ran past me. To this day I still don't know how they disappeared and I guess I will never know.

Clip clop, clip clop, I heard as the sticks went on the ground. “The giraffe always escapes. He will never get away this time!” I thought. “I smell him! I see the giraffe! You can’t hide from me!” He looked as big as a 47 storey building.I took a run and jumped onto his back. As soon as i scratched the giraffe, my claws stuck on his skin. He was really sticky. After that I scratched him so hard that he fell to the ground. After I jumped on him, I was hungry. He was tasty! I ate him for dinner with my family. After that there was leftovers we saved for brekkie. My dad was happy. I was happy as well.
